Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a pruned node?
- A pruned node verifies the full blockchain but only keeps the most recent blocks on disk (~550 MB) and chainstate (~13 GB). It's a fully validating node — ideal if you don't need to query full historical block data.
- Which Bitcoin Core versions are supported?
- The snapshot is compatible with Bitcoin Core v28 through v31.1 on Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- How long does the download link last?
- Your download link is valid for 24 hours after purchase. If it expires before you can use it, contact support@chainstate.io.
- How fresh is the snapshot?
- Snapshots are generated daily. The sync date is shown on the pricing card above.
- Is it secure to use snapshot?
- The snapshot is just the blocks and chainstate folders, which are plain binary data files. There's nothing in there that can run or execute anything on your machine.
- How do I verify the snapshot?
- Run gettxoutsetinfo muhash and compare the MuHash to a known-good value for the same block height. They must match. Read the Chain State Verification guide.
